  • Adult Career and Continuing Education Services-Vocational Rehabilitation (ACCES-VR) starts with the presumption that all individuals with disabilities can benefit from vocational rehabilitation services and should have opportunities to work in jobs integrated within their communities.  Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors guide individuals through service programs they need to reach their employment goal.

  • ASAN works to make our society more inclusive for autistic people. The organization works to make sure that autistic people are in control in our own lives. The organizations work includes:

    • Policy and legal advocacy

    • Making educational resources

    • Creating advocacy tools

    • Leadership training for autistic self-advocates

  • LDANYS is the only statewide association in New York that specifically represents the needs and interests of individuals who have learning disabilities and their families. LDANYS works with the Governor’s office, members of the state legislature, Board of Regents, and key state agencies that have oversight over programs and services that touch the lives of individuals who have learning disabilities and their families to ensure policies are fair and provide equal access to programs and services for individuals who have learning disabilities. 

  • The Literacy Assistance Center (LAC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening and expanding the adult education system, and to advancing adult literacy as a core value in our society and a foundation for equal opportunity and social justice. 

  • Literacy New York was founded on a vision and mission to serve adults and families most in need of literacy services. Specifically, the Literacy New York mission is to increase the effectiveness of adult literacy practitioners and the capacity of programs so that adults, families, and communities reach their full potential.

  • The Northeast ADA Center provides information, guidance, and training on implementation of all aspects of the ADA.

  • The New York State Talking Book and Braille Library (TBBL) is a free library service for eligible residents of upstate New York who are unable to use standard print materials due to a visual, physical or reading disability. The TBBL collection includes print Braille books, and fiction and nonfiction audio and braille books, with over 70 magazine subscriptions available as well.
