provides the opportunity for anyone looking for a career to learn their options and find a path to their goal. They can provide you with the information you need to get going on your job today.

MALONE ADULT CENTER

is open Monday through Friday (9am to 4pm) to provide seniors with nutrition, socialization, recreation, education and health related activities for seniors. Contact the Director Vicky Guerin at (518)483-6611 for more information.

United Way Of The Adirondack Region, Inc - ALICE

ALICE — an acronym for Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed. ALICE represents the
growing number of households in our communities that earn enough to be considered above the Federal Poverty Level (FPL), but do not earn enough to afford basic necessities.

ADULT EDUCATION

ADULT EDUCATION PROGRAMMING (AGES 21 AND OVER)

The high school equivalency program is designed to improve the educational and employment opportunities of adults in the Franklin-Essex-Hamilton BOCES catchment area. A variety of adult programming is offered throughout the area including Malone, Saranac Lake, Tupper Lake and the Akwesasne Mohawk Reserve. Program options consist of morning, afternoon or evening sessions. In addition, opportunities to participate in distance learning (home study) are available for those students who are unable to attend traditional programming.

TUTORING

Literacy Volunteers of Clinton, Essex, and Franklin Counties (LVCEF) is about bringing people together to make a real difference. LVCEF trains volunteers who provide free, confidential and individualized tutoring in basic literacy and English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). Literacy services that LVCEF provides our fellow community members are essential to improve their lives and our community's health and quality of life. Literacy is the foundation of self-improvement and the ability to achieve personal goals to benefit the community. We provide one-on-one tutoring for adults who seek to improve their reading and math skills as well as English conversation skills for non-native speakers. All of our services are provided 100% free of charge.
