Our Mission

The Wead Library provides access to resources that improve and enrich the lives of all members of the Malone community, regardless of origin, age, background, or views.  The library building is safe and welcoming, information is organized and up-to-date, and the staff is well trained to provide professional and caring service to all patrons.

The Malone Telegram -  Library card required. The Malone Telegram serves Northern Franklin County in the upstate region of New York. It reports on local news and events, including government actions, student and citizen profiles, schools, the Malone Chamber of Commerce, and local officials in 14 towns, five school districts, four villages and the St. Regis Mohawk Reservation. In addition, the newspaper provides obituaries and editorials. Malone, the seat of county government in Franklin County, is located in northernmost New York, approximately 10 miles south of the U.S.-Canadian border. It is home to Titus Mountain, a frequent destination for winter sports enthusiasts, and a campus of the North Country Community College.
